Buda Castle and Castle Hill The Budapest Castle Hill is one of the most impressive castles from the 18th century. It is a gigantic castle with 200 rooms, a castle constructed to prevent the Mongols from entering the city. The building has been inspired by the neo-gothic style. The building features a central dome, identical parliament halls, ten courtyards, an asymmetric façade, 27 gates, 691 rooms, 29 staircases, freight elevators, etc. On the eastern region of the building lies the memorial building of the Hungarian Revolution, the Kossuth Memorial coupled with the statue of Francis 2 Rakoczi.

Fisherman’s Bastion The Fisherman’s Bastion is situated along the Buda Castle and is amongst the most well-preserved monuments in Budapest. The Bastion features a seven pitched stone tower, lookout terraces, a 40m long aisle, a central parapet, a bronze statue of Stephen, a Matthias church, stairs, walking paths, etc. The castle was constructed around 1895-1902 by Frigyes Schulek. It is believed that the castle walls were protected by the fisherman and contemporarily it is part of the Budapest World Heritage Site. The seven towers present in the castle represent the 7 Tribes of Magyar who were known to settle along the Carpathian Basin in 895.
