How to do pre bookings of your tickets with United Airlines for a perfect vacation
When you wish to book in advance
and pay later, lock your itinerary. When you do that, you do not have to worry
about hotel rooms becoming sold at a steeper price than the prices you closed,
and that flight ticket is also considered as booked. This pre-booking helps you
lock your tickets for 3 – 7 days, the costs of united airlines
reservations would not go up till you decide to pay.
FareLock Feature
This avenue is called FareLock.
You’ll see the FareLock logo when you are locking the tickets, then go to manage
reservations and book before the hold period expires. If there are chances that
you would forget to book then choose an auto book. This system would auto book
your tickets post the lock period.
There is also a mandatory feature
where an email would remind you that your lock time is ending.
How much prior to book and Minimum duration of the trip
To avail of this LockFare
service, you should be pre-booking 110 days before the departure date. If it is
a Disney trip, you have to book 140 days in advance. If this system were to
work, your trip should be at least 3
days long, if it is a Norwegian trip, it should be at least 7 days long, and if
it is an MSC sailing trip, it should be at least a 15 day long trip or else the
Fare Lock would not work.
This process saves you so much
money, maybe even more than united airlines deals.
That is the rule regarding how much in advance you can book a flight, but if
you wish to book more in advance, then you can do so 330 days before travel.
